POSITION: Umpire Co-Ordinator
POSITION OUTLINE: To organise and coordinate umpires for BDNA domestic Saturday competition.
In addition, to organise and coordinate umpires to attend tournaments with the BDNA representative
teams.
To facilitate the training, development and badging of BDNA umpires.
POSITION STATUS: Casual
WAGES: $40.00 per hour
EXPECTED HOURS: Saturday during domestic season 8.30am – 4.30pm - Mid Week up to 5 hours.
The Banyule & Districts Netball Association is located in Macleod at NETS stadium, in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We are an affiliated member of Netball Victoria.
The BDNA currently has a successful junior competition running on Saturdays, a senior competition on Thursday evenings and a flourishing NetSetGo program. In addition, we have a highly regarded representative program with teams ranging from Under 11 to open sections. These teams compete at
Parkville and Association tournaments throughout the year. The BDNA is proud to be associated with the North East Blaze Netball Club.
NETS Stadium has four indoor courts and two fully covered outdoor courts.
We are currently seeking a motivated netball umpire to coordinate Saturday domestic competition umpiring rosters and the umpiring requirements for representative tournaments. They will need to be able to develop our current umpire training program and to assist in the training and badging of BDNA
umpires.
Strong communication skills will be highly regarded as this position will report to the BDNA board through the Employment Committee. The applicants will need to be able to communicate with umpires qualified at all levels and in training. A strong relationship with the BDNA Rep team coordinator will be required to ensure appropriate umpire representation at tournaments. The applicant will also have to resolve umpire related issues arising at the domestic competition on Saturdays.
Current First Aid training is preferred but can be acquired after employment, funded by the BDNA.
Working with Children visas and Police Checks are required.
The BDNA Board will consider a job share for interested umpires.
This position will formally commence in 2022 with side by side training available in the latter part of
2021 (COVID restrictions allowing).
